Regular Verbs

Regular verbs form their past-tense and past-participle forms by adding –ed or –d to the base forms of the words: amble-ambled-ambled, approach-approached-approached, care-cared-cared, climb-climbed-climbed, dare-dared-dared, dine-dined-dined, encourage-encouraged-encouraged, fine-fined-fined, gallop-galloped-galloped, hire-hired-hired, misplace-misplace-misplaced, stop-stopped-stopped, try-tried-tried, walk-walked-walked.

Irregular Verbs

Irregular verbs do not form their past-tense and past-participle forms by adding –ed or –d to the base forms of the words.
