Subject-Verb Agreement
The rule of subject-verb agreement states that verbs must agree with their subjects in number.
The verb must be singular if the subject is a singular noun or he, she, it. A singular verb in the third person ends in -s or -es. The subject and the verb in the following sentences agree in number because both are singular.
Examples
If the subject is we, they, or any plural subject, the verb in the present tense must be plural. Plural verbs do not end in -s. The subject and verb are said to agree because both are ……
