Negatives
Negatives are words that mean “no” or “not” such as no, not, nothing, none, never, nowhere, and nobody. The negative word not is found in contractions such as don’t, won’t, haven’t, isn’t, wasn’t, and wouldn’t. Only one negative should be used in a sentence to express a negative idea. The contraction doesn’t should be used with singular subjects, including he, she, and it. The contraction don’t should be used with plural subjects, including we and they. Don’t may be used with I and you, too.
