Subject and Object Pronouns

A pronoun is a word that can replace a noun. Subject pronouns include I, he, she, you, we, and they. As subject pronouns can serve as the subject of a clause or sentence, they are said to be in the subjective case. Use a subject pronoun in a compound subject.

Object pronouns include me, him, her, you, us, and them and can be used after an action verb or a preposition. Object pronouns are in the objective case. The pronouns you and it can be either subjects or objects. Use an object pronoun in a compound direct object, a compound indirect object, or a compound object of a preposition.
