Simple Subject: Part 7
The complete subject has been highlighted in each of the following sentences. Click on the simple subject.
The simple subject is never a part of the prepositional phrase. In identifying the simple subject, be sure to identify the prepositional phrases and eliminate them. For example, the underlined prepositional phrase in "The girl behind the tree ran toward me." is not a part of the simple subject.
Sample: A waste product of photosynthesis is oxygen.
